Volleyball Giants pick up the pace

The volleyball team beat Decatur Central last Wednesday in four sets. The Giants then hosted the Ben Davis Invite on Saturday and finished with a 3-1 record on the day, defeating Perry Meridian, Whiteland, and Southport, and losing to Terre Haute North. On Monday night, BD lost to Speedway in three sets. The volleyball team will host Lawrence North tonight and play at Brebeuf Jesuit on Thursday.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

The boys cross country team finished 4th out of 8 teams in the Dave Bannon Invitational. Chris Hutto finished in 9th place overall to lead the Giants. The team will race at Avon tomorrow and again at Brownsburg on Saturday.

GIRLS SOCCER

After losing to Lawrence Central 4-2 last Wednesday, the girls soccer team bounced back and drew even in a 2-2 match at Mooresville on Saturday morning. The Lady Giants lost 5-0 vs Franklin Central on Monday night. They will play Center Grove on Wednesday, Avon on Saturday, and Warren next Monday.

FOOTBALL

The football team lost 54-13 at Avon last Friday. Dillon Moore had a pick 6 and Chris Patterson had a rushing touchdown to put the Giants on the board. BD will face off at Pike this Friday.

BOYS TENNIS

The boys tennis team lost to Southport last Wednesday 1-4. Freshman Gavin Bringle and Michael Lane won their doubles match for the Giants first win of the season. The Giants will host Covenant Christian on Wednesday and travel to Cardinal Ritter on Thursday.

GIRLS GOLF

The girls golf team came in third against Avon and North Central last Tuesday. They will play in the MIC meet starting at noon today. The Giants will then host Westfield on Wednesday and then tee off against Perry Meridian on Thursday.
