Ben Davis wrestling is off to an 9-2 record in dual meets after bringing home three wins from the Shamrock Duals this past weekend in Westfield.

The Giants beat Mount Vernon (52-22), Yorktown (41-33), and Lawrence North (43-32) and lost to Hamilton Southeastern (38-33) and Noblesville (35-33). On Thursday, the Giants won 60-24 at Danville. Ben Davis is back in action Tuesday at Speedway and Thursday at North Central.

Boys basketball

The Giants went 2-0 last week with a win at home against Southport (68-35) and a win in the Sneakers for Santa event at Brownsburg Saturday against Fort Wayne Wayne (71-57). In Saturdays win, the Giants had four players in double figures led by junior Tavion Williams with 17. Seniors KJ Windham and Ramone Enis each scored 16 while junior Mark Zackery added 12. Zackery was playing in his first game since helping BD win a state football title.

The Giants (2-1) host Franklin Central this Friday.

Girls basketball

Ben Davis failed in its first attempt at program win No. 800 in a 52-41 home loss to Warsaw on Friday. The lady Giants (2-7) are back in action Tuesday when they host Roncalli in the first round of the Marion County tournament (6:30 p.m. start). The lady Giants are defending county champions.
