Dance leads Marian

Sir’ Zion Dance led Marian (4-1) in tackles, with six solos and three assisted, in a 61-7 win against Taylor. Trent Gipson caught two passes for 31 yards for the Knights.

Manchester (1-3) defeated Franklin (2-2) 27-24 in overtime. Wayne Vaughn started at center for the winnersand Braden McGowen saw action on the offensive line for Franklin.

Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham (3-1, 2-0) downed Wagner 27-3. The winners’ Adrian Reese had three receptions for 45 yards, carried the ball once for five yards, and returned a punt four yards.

Rose-Hulman (2-2, 1-0) defeated Defiance 63-14. Noah Thomas caught three passes for 91 yards and two touchdowns and rushed once for three yards.

Daylan Carnell saw action for Missouri (2-3, 0-2) in a 62-24 loss to Tennessee.

Delbert Mimms played for North Carolina State (4-1, 1-0) in a 34-27 win against Louisiana Tech.

Dawand Jones started on the offensive line for Ohio State (4-1, 2-0) in a 52-13 defeat of Rutgers.

Minnesota (3-2, 1-1) defeated Purdue (3-2). Esezi Otomewo started on the defensive line for the Gophers and had four solo tackles (one for a loss) and a quarterback hurry. The Boilermakers’ Broc Thompson caught three passes for 30 yards.

Indiana (2-3) lost 24-0 to Penn State. Starting defensive back Reese Taylor had two solo tackles and assisted on one.

WOMENS CROSS COUNTRY

Toren Hartog placed 421st of 490 runners, fifth for Transylvania, in 23:19.6 at the 5K Louisville Classic.

MENS CROSS COUNTRY

Marian (16th), Franklin (62nd), and Vincennes (46th) competed at the 62 team 8K Blue Louisville Classic. Kace Rhoades placed 169th of 545, fifth for Marian, in 26:50.4. Corbin Lee placed 461st, first for Franklin, in 30:11.9.

Ernest Momotu was 269th, second for Vincennes, in 27:36.6; and teammate Opiew Manamanya was 299th, third for his team, in 27:51.5. Indianapolis’ Aaron Trejo was seventh for the Greyhounds and 489th overall in 309:58.5.

 MENS SOCCER

 Jalen Rice took two shots for Marian (5-5-2) in a 3-2 loss to Spring Arbor.

Franklin (2-6-1) lost 2-1 to Manchester and tied Anderson 2-2. Dany Escamilla played in both matches and took one shot against Manchester.

St. Mary-of-the-Woods (6-2-1) lost 6-1 to Oakland City and won 3-1 against Ohio Christian. Andrew Aceituno was in the goal for both matches and had seven saves while yielding six goals against Oakland City, and had four saves while giving up one goal against Ohio Dominican. Taiwo Anifowose had one shot on goal against Oakland and three shots, one on goal, against Christian. Fausto Lopez-Ibarra had one shot on goal against Christian. Victor Villagomez and Fatoke Anjolaoluwa played in both matches for the Pomeroy.
