Indiana (6-2) lost 26-20 to Ole Miss in the January 2 Outback Bowl. Reese Taylor had four solo tackles, broke up two passes, and returned one punt for no yards for the Hoosiers, who are coached by former Ben Davis coach Tom Allen.

Ohio State (7-0) defeated Clemson 49-28. Dawand Jones, a member of the Buckeyes, is not listed as having played. However, it has been reported that he was the player who dumped the Gatorade bucket on the head of the OSU coach after the win. Ohio State plays Alabama for the national title a week from today.

MENS BASKETBALL

 Ball State (4-4) fell 78-68 to Ohio University. Jalen Windham had one turnover and missed one shot in 12 minutes for the Cardinals.

Michigan State (7-3, 1-3) lost 81-56 to Minnesota and won 84-77 against Nebraska. Aaron Henry had a team high 11 points (3 for 10, 1 for 1, 4 for 4), four rebounds, three assists, one steal, and two turnovers in 28 minutes in  the loss; and led the team with 27 points (10 for 16, 3 for 5, 4 for 5) and had four rebounds, one assist, one blocked shot, one steal, and two turnovers in 33 minutes in the win.

Taylor (7-5) defeated East-West 107-78 and Edward Water 75-66. Jeff Clayton had six points (2 for 4, 0 for 0, 2 for 3), eight rebounds, one blocked shot, one steal, and two turnovers in 12 minutes against East-West; and one point (0 for 0, 0 for 0, 1 for 2), three rebounds, two assists, and one turnover in 22 minutes against Edward Water.

WOMENS BASKETBALL

Khera Goss had 12 points (5 for 8, 2 for 2, 0 for 0), three rebounds one assist, and one steal in 36 minutes for Toledo (6-1, 2-1) in a 65-57 defeat of Akron.

Xavier (4-4) defeated Providence 64-50 and lost 53-50 to Creighton. Nia Clark did not play in either game.
