It is difficult to imagine a football team in the state of Indiana with a more difficult schedule that Ben Davis.

The Giants open the season Friday night at No. 4 Brownsburg and then host No. 5 Avon, a team that beat Brownsburg 38-0 in last year’s state tournament. Ben Davis will face six opponents who are ranked in the Associated Press preseason Class 6A state poll — No. 1 Carmel, No. 2 Center Grove, No. 3 Warren Central, No. 7 North Central and Brownsburg and Avon.

Ben Davis opens the season ranked No. 9 despite coming off a 3-7 season.
