Lance Stephenson is an emotional NBA player.

Want proof?

After the Indiana Pacers beat the Brooklyn Nets this past weekend to improve to 8-0, Stephenson was asked on television during a postgame interview about his prediction that the Pacers would start the season 10-0.

“We might as well make that 15-0 now,” Stephenson said. “Why not?”

All joking aside, Stephenson and his Pacers are off to an amazing start.

Heading into Friday’s home game against the Milwaukee Bucks the Pacers are 8-0, their best start in their 46-year franchise history. Included in that stretch is a home win against the rival Chicago Bulls and four wins in five days last week.

This weekend, the Pacers host Milwaukee Friday night and visit Chicago Saturday. The key players that keep the team striving are the starting five, four of of whom are averaging double figures after eight games.

In addition to Stephenson (14.3 points, 5.8 assists), the starters include point guard George Hill (11.8 points), forward David West (11.9), forward Paul George (24.9 points, 7.8 rebounds) and center Roy Hibbert (9.9 points, 8.8 rebounds)e ,  that are averaging over ten points a game each.

The team looks to be getting ready and prepared for some big upcoming games in the next couple of weeks.

Of course, the team to beat in the NBA remains the two-time defending champion Miami Heat. The Pacers host the Heat on Dec. 10 and visit them on Dec. 18. Other games against the Heat include a March 26 home game and an April 11 game in Miami.
