Girls head to golf regionals
The girls golf team will be playing in its second straight regional Saturday at Smock Golf Course.
The girls golf team came into sectionals with high hopes. They have been playing good golf all year and it was time for them to prove that their hard work would payoff.
They finish third out of nine teams and advanced to regionals. They shot 331 as a team and they were led by senior Claire Thompson, who shot a 78. She was followed closely behind by Sarah Gaither who shot 81. They will be participating in regionals on Saturday at Smock Golf Course.
They hope to keep their season alive as they move into the next round of the IHSAA State Championship. If they play to their potential, then they should be able to make a run to State at Legends Golf Course.
