Girls golfers off to impressive start
Team tees off to 7-0 record
The girls golf team improved to 7-0 for the first time in coach Dave Patz’ coaching career Tuesday afternoon.
The girls shot a 182 to beat Avon (187) and North Central (202) in a dual meet at Prestwick.
Coach Patz thinks balance has been the key to the start.
“The team has five players that are all very similar, so, we do not have a true number one golfer,” he said. “In fact, we have had three different girls medalist of the match: Ellie Neff, Claire Thompson, and Madyson Elmore.”
The girls started 6-0 each of the last two years before losing to Avon. The girls next match is Friday at Oak Tree against Plainfield.
