As spring break gets closer, the whole vibe at school starts to change. You can feel the excitement in the hallways, in class, and even at lunch.
Everyone is talking about how many days are left until break, and it feels like the countdown is all anyone can think about. Senior Quierra Shelton says, “For me personally the mood knowing spring break is coming is depressing.”
Even though students are excited or burntout there’s still work to get done before the break actually starts.
Teachers are giving last-minute assignments and tests, and everyone is trying to finish everything so they can relax during spring break.
For a lot of students, knowing the break is coming up makes it easier to stay motivated and push through the last few days. Senior Joey Noel says, “It makes me less motivated because I just cant wait to get it over with.” Around school, people are always talking about their plans. Some students are traveling with their families, going somewhere warm, or visiting relatives. Others are just excited to hang out with friends, sleep in, and not have to wake up early for school. Junior Mame Bouss Fall is most excited to, “Hangout with friends and family while having a break away from school.”
Overall, the days before spring break bring a different kind of energy to school.
Everyone seems a little happier and more relaxed knowing a break is right around the corner. It’s the perfect time for students to take a pause, recharge, and come back ready to finish the rest of the school year strong.
Senior Mariama Diallo is planning on, “Fully committing to my major and push myself to do better for my future, both in school and in my personal growth.” Before returning back to school and finishing off the school year.
