Summer break is the perfect time to relax, find new interests, and make memories that will last forever.
Here are some ideas for how to spend the seven weeks we have before the 2025-26 school year begins.
Road trips
There is something special about hitting the open road with friends or family. Choose a destination within driving distance and map out stops along the way at points of interest, parks, or tiny towns. A road trip is as spur-of-the-moment or planned as you can envision, making it an experience for all ages.
Go camping
Nature lovers have the opportunity to spend summer break outdoors. If you pitch a tent in a national park, go hiking on a scenic route, or simply camp out one night in your backyard under the stars, camping is the best means of disconnecting from social media and technology.
Learn a New Hobby
Summer is the perfect opportunity to join something you have always wished to join but never found the time. Some of those activities are like learning to cook, learning a musical instrument, photography, or even a sport, there’s much more you can do.
Begin Reading a New Book
If you like reading or want to create a habit, a summer reading challenge can be an easy and fun way to spend time. Choose a goal, such as reading 10 books over the summer, or experiment with different genres that you have not explored.
Attend Festivals or Concerts
Summer is festival time and time for live music events. Whether it’s a food festival, music concert, cultural event, or arts and crafts fair, there’s something for everyone. Look at local event listings to see there’s something happening around or even take a trip to a larger event.
Summer is a fun time, time to relax, and create memories. Have fun during this break from school. Get the best out of your summer.
