It’s the hottest summer on record and getting hotter

Its+the+hottest+summer+on+record+and+getting+hotter

In the summer months of 2023, a massive heat wave has spanned across the United States from coast to coast bringing in new all time records for states such as Arizona, California, New York, and even Indiana.

They — weather forecasters — are calling this heat wave the El Niño phenomenon, which is caused by a weakening of trade winds, causing warm water to push against the west coast. So far scientists haven’t been able to say the cause of it stems from climate change and as the summer continues on, the heat is only bound to get worse.

With record setting temperatures, along with our daily lives wildlife has also taken an impact from this heat causing cacti in Phoenix to die along with severe dehydration. Increasing temperatures going into the 110 degree radius has sparked a nationwide excessive heat statement to be alerted to the people in those affected areas. People are being told to stay inside as much as they can and to always hydrate when outside in the scorching heat.

In the duration of this heat wave, air conditioners are vital to preventing heat stroke along with hydrating. In a recent article, it has been revealed that eight dogs were being transported in a cargo van with no air conditioning on at all causing them all to die of heat stroke. Last Saturday when this occurred temperatures were not settling down standing at 104 degrees.

As we go further into August it is expected that the heat will not stop further emphasizing the importance of hydration and air conditioning.

The Death of a Star, and a young man

It was on July 31, 2023 when news broke announcing Angus Cloud, most popular for his role on the show “Euphoria” as Fezco was pronounced dead. A cause for his death has yet to be determined. The news breaks the hearts of the media and the stars who played along with him, shown by a tribute to him posted by Storm Reid who played Gia Bennett in “Euphoria.”

Angus was a star who was “surprised by his own success” never believing he would take off realizing his appearance as someone who could be a drug dealer being the reason he was selected as an actor for the show. The difference between me and everyone else who’s famous it’s that they were trying to go get famous, for the most part,” said Cloud in an interview with CNN. It is evident that he never intended to take off yet despite that he has become one of the most recognizable actors in the last 5 years.

Justice served… long time coming

An 87 year-old pastor named David Zandstra was arrested in Cobb County, Georgia, where he confessed to killing an 8 year-old girl over 5 decades ago. It was in 1975 when the kidnapping and eventual murder of the little girl took place. It wasn’t until an investigation with a confidential informant came forward with an interview and a diary entry the informant wrote in 1975 when she was only a 10 year-old girl. Zandstra has been charged with criminal homicide, murder, kidnapping of a minor and the possession of an instrument of crime. Justice has been served, after a long time of waiting. Through all the haunting and tribulation everyone can finally rest easy.
