Girls soccer makes Final Four of county

Team to play Park Tudor next

The girls soccer team advanced to the Final Four of the Marion County tournament Wednesday night with a 6-2 win over Franklin Central in a game played at Speedway.

Goals were scored by Sarah Kashman, Kennedy Pierson, Darien Taylor, Kristen Thompson (2) and Mariah Allen-Harris. Kashman now has five goals during the county tourney after scoring four goals in an opening round 9-0 win over Southport.

The girls advance to Saturday’s Final Four at North Central. The Giants play Park Tudor at 11:45 a.m. The other girls Final Four game is North Central vs. Pike. The winners will play in the championship game at 6:45 p.m.

The boys lost a 2-1 overtime heartbreaker at Speedway Wednesday night.

In other Marion County athleteic events, the girls volleyball team lost to Roncalli Wednesday night in the county tournament.

Cross country county is Saturday at Brebeuf with the boys race at 9 a.m. and the girls race at 9:30 a.m. The cross country teams then host the MIC tournament Wednesday beginning at 5:30 p.m..
