Two new locations and a theme of ”The Roaring 20s” will highlight end-of-year activities for the Class of 2014 this year.

This year’s prom will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium on May 10, 2014. Lucas Oil will offer a unique view of the downtown Indianapolis skyline for prom-goers. The prom will begin at 8 p.m. and end at 11 p.m.

This year we will also have a change with the location of the graduation ceremony. Originally it was going to be held at the Pepsi Coliseum but due to renovations it will be held at the Ben Davis football field on Saturday, June 7 at 2:30 p.m.

In order for seniors to walk for graduation they must attend the graduation rehearsal Friday, June 6 at 1:30 p.m. Tickets for the graduates to give out to their family and friends will be available at that practice. Each student will be given no more than ten.

If weather becomes an issue, principal Sandra Squire will either move the time to later in the day on June 7 or consider moving the time to Sunday, June 8. Those plans will be discussed the week prior to graduation only if weather becomes an issue.

But before graduation, students will be able to celebrate the year in grand style at Lucas Oil for prom and its theme of “The Roaring 20s,” which was decided on by the junior class Wednesday after school.

The main color from decorations to party favors will be gold. To fit the theme, girls are welcomed to wear flapper dresses, headpieces and pearls.

This year prom will also have a new DJ in DJ Indiana Jones, who he has played at large events in Indiana including Warm Fest and The Indianapolis 500 after party.

Prom tickets will be $30 per students or $60 for couples. Look for information about buying prom tickets after spring break.
