Do You Remember the Children’s Museum?

As children, everyone enjoyed the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. School field trips were the highlight of the school year.

It was always so big and there were new things to learn everywhere. That hasn’t changed much over the years.

Sure, we’re older now, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the Children’s Museum like we’re 8 years old again. There are so many cool new exhibits that we haven’t experienced yet and of course there are the ones that have been our favorite for years. It could be great to revisit the past for a little while.

The “Treasures of the Earth” exhibit is a popular spot. There is a real archeology lab where scientists were actually working on real artifacts and there’s a cannon from an actual shipwreck. You also get to see a mummy’s tomb and use hieroglyphics to identify who he was.

Another cool exhibit is “Take Me There: China”. You can get in a plane simulator and be ‘flown’ to Beijing to experience the culture. You get to practice using chopsticks, listen to traditional and contemporary music, try playing real Chinese instruments, and more.

Those two exhibits have always been great, but there are so many more, like the planetarium and carousel, and they’re even adding new ones. The Museum is planning a Ninja Turtle exhibit from September 26, 2015 to April 10, 2016! How cool is that?

Also, as always there will be the haunted house at the Children’s Museum, this year it will be pirate themed. This exhibit will only be here for the Halloween season, from October 10-30.

There’s cool art and culture everywhere in the Children’s Museum. So, if you get bored and have time, remember the Children’s Museum isn’t just for children.
