Week ending November 30

FOOTBALL

Reese Taylor had three solo tackles and broke up one pass for Indiana (8-4, 5-4) in a 44-41 double overtime defeat of Purdue.

Marian (11-0) defeated The University of the Cumberlands 30-0 in the NAIA national quarterfinals and will play 12-0 Lindsey Wilson at 1:05 Saturday at Marian. Sir Zion Dance had one solo tackle for the Knights.

Broc Thompson caught one pass for 14 yards for Marshall (8-4, 6-2) in a 30-27 overtime win against Florida International.

Esezi Otomewo had one solo tackle and assisted on two others for Minnesota (10-2, 7-2) in a 38-17 loss to Wisconsin.

Starting linebacker Asmar Bilal had two solo tackles and assisted on one for Notre Dame (10-2) in a 45-24 defeat of Stanford.

Dawand Jones played for Ohio State (12-0, 9-0) in a 56-27 defeat of Michigan. The Buckeyes play Saturday against Wisconsin at Lucas Oil Stadium in the Big Ten championship game

Jontae Dobson saw action for Southeast Missouri State (9-4, 7-1) in an NCAA D-II 24-6 playoff loss to Illinois State.

Kailien Guillory had one solo tackle for Western Michigan (7-5, 5-3) in a 17-14 loss to Northern Illinois.

VOLLEYBALL

Purdue (22-7, 14-6) defeated both Michigan and Michigan State by 3-2 scores and will host a four team NCAA volleyball tournament first round.  Shavonna Cuttino had two kills and two errors in eight attempts, one dig, five assisted blocks, and one blocking error in five sets against the Wolverines; and she played in one set against the Spartans.

WOMENS BASKETBALL

Brianna Jones had two points (0 for 5, 0 for 0, 2 for 2), five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and five turnovers in 18 minutes for Lakeland (0-6) in a 56-48 loss to Benedictine.

Jessie Kee played 31 minutes for Kentucky State (3-3) in a 61-58 defeat of Illinois-Springfield and had four points (2 for 6, 0 for 1, 0 for 0), 10 rebounds, three assists, and one blocked shot.

Imani Graham played eight minutes for DePauw (5-1) in a 69-58 win against Washington, St. Louis and missed a three point shot and had one turnover.

Erynn Young had a triple double with  31 points (13 for 26, 2 for 4, 3 for 8), 18 rebounds, and 10 assists, as well as one steal, two blocked shots, and seven turnovers for Lincoln (5-5) in a 124-111 defeat of St. Mary-of-the-Woods .

MENS BASKETBALL

Michigan State (5-2) lost 71-66 to Virginia Tech, and defeated Georgia 93-85 and UCLA 75-62. Aaron Henry had a team high 18 points (7 for 12, 2 for 4, 2 for 4), five rebounds, three assists, two solo blocks, two assisted blocks, and three turnovers in the loss; 14 points (5 for 9, 1 for 2, 3 for 4), three rebounds, two assists, and two turnovers in 36 minutes against Georgia; and seven points (2 for 6, 1 for 3, 2 for 2), four rebounds two assists, one steal, and two turnovers against UCLA.

Miami (4-3) defeated Drake 67-59 and lost 82-71 to South Alabama and 71-66 to Wright State. Josh Brewer played a total of 16 minutes in the three games and had two points (1 for 1), four rebounds, and two turnovers.

Lindenwood lost 117-65 to Illinois in an exhibition game. Jalen Newsom had six points (2 for 7, 2 for 6, 0 for 0), one assist, and one assisted blocked shot in 18 minutes.

Jeff Clayton played 13 minutes for Taylor (5-3) in an 88-68 loss to Marian and had three rebounds, three assists, three missed shots, and one turnover.

Creighton (5-2) lost 83-52 to San Diego State and defeated Texas Tech 83-76. Jalen Windham had two points (1 for 2, 0 for 1, 0 for 1)  in nine minutes in the loss and did not play in the win.
