FOOTBALL

Reese Taylor had one solo tackle for Indiana (7-3, 4-3) in a 34-27 loss at Penn State.

James Barker played for Elmhurst (1-9, 1-8) in a 58-0 loss to Wheaton.

Sir Zion Dance assisted on two tackles, one a sack, for Marian (9-0, 1-7) in a 21-7 defeat of Siena Heights.

Broc Thompson had one solo tackle and caught a pass for six yards for Marshall (7-3) in a 31-10 win against Louisiana Tech.

Esezi Otomewo played for Minnesota (9-1, 6-1) in a 23-19 loss to Iowa.

Notre Dame (8-2) defeated Navy 52-20. Starting Irish linebacker Asmar Bilal had five solo tackles, one a sack; and recovered a fumble.

Dawand Jones saw action for Ohio State (10-0, 7-0) in a 56-21 defeat of Rutgers.

Darius Randolph played for Ohio Wesleyan (7-3, 6-3) in a 38-20 loss to Wittenberg.

Rose-Hulman (6-4, 5-2) lost 47-14 to perennial national power St. John’s of Minnesota. Starting wide receiver Noah Thomas caught nine passes for 98 yards, one a 23 yard touchdown reception; carried the ball eight times for 27 yards; and returned seven kickoffs 107 yards for the Engineers.

Jontae Dobson assisted on one tackle for Southeast Missouri State (8-3, 6-1) in a 26-12 win against Eastern Illinois.

Kailien Guillory played for Western Michigan (7-4, 5-2) in a 37-34 defeat of Ohio University.

MENS CROSS COUNTRY

Competing for 29th place Franklin in the 37 team 8K Great Lakes NCAA D-III regional at Calvin, Michigan,Matthew Lee was seventh for the Grizzlies and 241st of 255 overall in 30:30.3.

WOMENS CROSS COUNTRY

Maritza Rodriguez was first for 19th place Ball State and 62nd of 211 overall in 21:43.2 at the 31 team 6K NCAA D-I Great Lakes Regional.

VOLLEYBALL

Purdue (18-7) defeated Ohio State 3-1 and Maryland 3-0. Shavonna Cuttino played in each set against the Buckeyes and had five kills with two errors in 11 attempts, four assists on blocks, and one dig. She did not play against Maryland.

WOMENS BASKETBALL

 Lakeland (0-4) lost 59-38 to Wheaton and 45-42 to Ripon. Brianna Jones had four points (0 for 5, 0 for 0, 4 for 4) one rebound, one assist, one blocked shot, one steal, and two turnovers in 26 minutes against Wheaton; and six points (2 for 6, 0 for 0, 2 for 6), two rebounds, three assists, seven steals, and five turnovers in 33 minutes against Ripon.

DePauw (3-0) defeated Wisconsin-Stevens Point 66-61 and Wisconsin-Whitewater 70-69. Imani Graham played 12 minutes in the two wins and had one turnover.

Tuskegee (2-2) defeated Shorter (GA) 68-28 and Montevallo 88-84, Shelle Daniels had 10 points (3 for 7, 0 for 0, 4 for 5), seven rebounds, one assist, two blocked shots, three steals, and one turnover in 27 minutes against Shorter; and five points (2 for 7, 0 for 0, 1 for 2), six rebounds, and one turnover in 14 minutes against Montevallo.

Kentucky State (2-1) lost 92-78 to West Virginia State. Jessie Key had nine points (4 for 12, 0 for 3, 1 for 4), six rebounds and one turnover in 21 minutes.

Lincoln (3-5) lost 92-68 to Purdue-Northwest, 84-62 to Huntington, and 91-82 to Spring Arbor. Erynn Young had team highs with  23 points (9 for 17, 0 for 1, 5 for 8) and 10 rebounds, and had two assists, three blocked shots, three steals, and eight turnovers in 34 minutes against Northwest; a team high 16 points (8 for 17, 0 for 3, 0 for 1), eight rebounds, two blocked shots, one steal, and four turnovers in 30 minutes against Huntington; and 15 points (7 for 16, 0 for 2, 1 for 1), five rebounds, two steals, three assists, and two turnovers in 27 minutes before fouling out against Spring Arbor.

MENS BASKETBALL

 Aaron Henry had nine points  (3 for 6, 0 for 1, 3 for 4), one rebound, one assist, one steal, one blocked shot, and one turnover in 24 minutes for Michigan State (2-1) in a 76-73 defeat of Seton Hall.

Miami (2-1) defeated Fort Wayne 84-80 and Alabama A & M 79-63. The Red Hawks’ Josh Brewer played a total of 13 minutes in the two wins and had three points (1 for 2, 1 for 2, 0 for 0) and three rebounds.

Jalen Newsom played 15 minutes for Lindenwood (3-0) in an 88-80 defeat of William Woods and had three points (1 for 8, 1 for 8, 0 for 0), three rebounds, and one steal.

Creighton (2-1) lost 79-69 to Michigan and won 87-72 against Louisiana Tech. Jalen Windham played briefly against Michigan.

Taylor (4-2) lost 85-81 to IU-Kokomo, and won 110-74 against East-West University and 90-65 against West Virginia Tech. Jeff Clayton had two points (1 for 1), two rebounds, and two turnovers in 13 minutes against Kokomo; no points (0 for 2, 0 for 0, 0 for 2), five rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one turnover in 16 minutes against East-West; and eight points (4 for 5, 0 for 1, 0 for 0), two rebounds, one assist, and two turnovers in 13 minutes against West Virginia Tech.,
