Colts look for revenge against an old friend

Winner of Sunday’s game advances to AFC Championship

Remember Peyton Manning? How could you ever forget the familiar No. 18?

The Indianapolis Colts will get up close and personal with Manning and his Denver Broncos in Sunday’s AFC Divisional Playoff round at 4:40 p.m.

“It’s all business,” Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck said earlier this week. “We face the Broncos, in a sense. I’ve never been into the quarterback-versus-quarterback thing, you know. We’re not on the field at the same time, but I have a lot of respect for [Manning] obviously. What he does, what he still does, is amazing.

“He’s a stud, but I’ll worry about the Denver defense. That’s what I’ve got to worry about.”

The Luck-Manning story started three years ago with the Cols drafted Luck after releasing Manning, who would end up in Denver.

Luck so far has had a great three years with 12,287 passing yards. Luck and the Colts lost 31-24 the opening weekend of the season in Denver.

This will be the first Luck-Manning matchup in the playoffs. Luck is 2-2 in playoff outings, having advanced to this weekend via a 26-10 win over Cincinnati.

“It’s Colts vs. Broncos,” Colt coach Chuck Pagano said in a teleconference this week. “It’s about our players going out there and playing well and performing.”
