Lady Giants bow out in thriller

It was the story of two quarters Friday night at the Ben Davis girls basketball sectional.

The host Lady Giants used a suffocating defense in the third quarter to turn a 31-19 halftime deficit into a 42-37 lead going into the fourth quarter. Then Roncalli went on a 9-0 run to open the final quarter en route to a 66-58 win that sent the lady Giants home with a 13-8 record.

Senior Natalie Howard and junior Kansas Robinson each scored 13 points in the losing cause. Roncalli went on to win the sectional championship over Perry Meridian on Saturday night.

Ben Davis had a 12-point gain and moved up two spots from last year at the Brownsburg swim sectional Saturday. Every swimmer who competed Saturday dropped their best time for the season.
