Is all this Spidey talk really necessary?

What’s this I’m hearing about a new movie coming out? I’m hearing about it being a Sony movie and a Marvel movie, but Disney owns Marvel now, right? So does that make it a Disney movie too? I don’t know.

Anyway, Spider-Man: No Way Home has been a highly anticipated movie since 2020. The initial release date was in July 2021, but COVID pushed it back to December. Everybody’s excited over it. I’m not sure if it’s Tom Holland or the returning Spider-Mans (Spider-Men?), but we’re going to explore all the talk surrounding the release of this movie.

So, chances are if you’re reading this, you’re a fan of Spider-Man, right?

Well, if that’s the case, let me know if you can relate to this. I asked my older sister Mawaddah a simple question: “What are your thoughts on the new Spider-Man movie coming out?” and before I even finished speaking, she proceeded to blurt out, “I CAN’T WAIT”  so, obviously, it’s going to be so good.

Dr Strange is going to be in it, I’ve heard theories and stuff about that. Doc Oc is going to be in it, and the most exciting part: Toby McGuire and Andrew Garfield are going to be in it. Even though we didn’t see it in the trailer, I really hope they’ll be in it.

And then, uh, oh my god! in the trailer we saw MJ falling, kind of like the scene where Gwen was falling in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, so, um, one of my friends thought that’s how they’d introduce Garfield into it, so it’s going to be so good. Basically, I can’t wait. I think it’s safe to say that I will NEVER be this excited about a movie. I don’t even like movies. Anyway, I think that’s the most extreme version of excited fans that we’ll be seeing before the movie drops.

I asked my younger sister the same exact question, and her response was, “Hm?” So, based on that one statistic I think it’s safe to say that the movie is more appealing to older teenagers. Case closed.

My sister probably spoiled some things that you’d rather not know for you, so I don’t feel bad about the info that I’m about to dump into this story. Maybe we can put a spoiler warning in the title or something.

Supposedly, Jamie Foxx is going to appear in the movie as Electro (whoever that is), and Benedict Cumberbatch will be casted as Dr Strange. There’s also the Lizard guy, the old Spider-Men, their girlfriends, Green Goblins, and the Sandman. There’s been some talk about Daredevil from Netflix making an appearance as well.

Honestly, I have no background information on any of those characters I mentioned. Oh, and also, there’s been a LOT of talk about the spider-verse multiverse thing being introduced in No Way Home. I’m not even sure how to start going through the theories and stuff surrounding that, so I’m not going to try.

Bottom line is, the movie drops in two weeks. Right after the semester ends too, which is great. When I asked my friend Msgana what she thought about it, she said, “Woo, Spider-Man! I’ll go see it by myself if I have to.”

It’s people like that that I’m counting on, you know? Like, if the movie turns out to be trash, I need those people who went and wasted their money and time to warn me against doing so. If you’re one of those hardcore Spidey Squad fan people, holler at me after you watch it.
