The Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) held their national competition in New York City February 19-21. BDTV came home with a second place award for Kelis Sturdivant (daughter of Child Nutrition Manager Sean Swanson), who won 2nd place in the nation for her “Sports Report”.

In addition, the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters (IASB) held the Spring Conference and Awards Ceremony March 10 at Butler University.
BDTV came home with

2nd place- Cinematography, Lucas Allison

3rd place- Music Video, Donte Hickerson (Area 31-TV Broadcasting), Ethan Maleto (Area 31). Hunter Smith (Area 31), and Jaileigh Pink (BDHS)

In addition to BDTV’s awards, our Radio Broadcasting Students also were honorable mention in two highly-contested IASB categories.

Tyler Stout (Cascade) and Brycen Hill (Danville) were Honorable Mention in Sporting Event Broadcast (This category looks at all aspects of a sports broadcast from the play-by-play to the analysis to the halftime and pregame/postgame shows, etc.)

Brycen Hill (Danville) was honorable mention in Basketball Play-by-Play (This category covers the actual play-by-play call of the game only).
