Cheerleaders joining in on the Clermont fun

The Ben Davis marching band has been a mainstay in the fall Clermont parade and this year will be joined by our cheerleading squad for the first time.

“With never doing anything like this before, I think it’s a great opportunity for the cheer program,” senior cheer co-captain Aubrey Fain said. “We are very thankful to be a part of it.”

When they were asked to be a part of the parade — which starts at 11 a.m. this Saturday through Clermont — coach Jamika Jones jumped at the chance.

“I’m more so excited for the girls because this gives them an opportunity to show what they can do,” Jones said. “I’m confident in their cheers and chance, stunting, tumbling and their overall crowd involvement.”

Fain also sees this as a chance to grow the cheerleading program in the community.

”I am very excited for the parade as well as everyone on the team,” she said. “I can’t wait to inspire all the little girls in the crowd who hope to be a future Giant cheerleader.”

There you have it Giants. This parade will be a time to remember.

Anyone can come out to support our cheerleaders. Bring your parents, your grandma and or friends — everyone’s invited. The parade starts at the Spirit of Life church on 3737 North Raceway Rd.
