Wu Assassins is an American supernatural action crime drama television series, created by John Wirth and Tony Krants that premiered on Netflix on August 8, 2019.

The series stars Iko Uwais, Bryron Mann, Lewis Tan, Lawrence Kao, Cella Au, Li Jun Li, Tommy Flanagan and Katheryn Winnick. The series is getting praise for the good fight choreography and while I agree with that, I also think it is way more interesting then just fights.

The show follows the story of Kai Jin (Iko Uwais), a young Chinatown chef in present-day San Francisco. He becomes entangled with the Chinese Triad’s pursuit of deadly ancient power known as the “Wu Xing”.

After an encounter with a mystical spirit. Kai reluctantly becomes the Wu Assassin, using his enhanced martial art skils to recover supernatural powers from five modern day criminals threatening to use them to destroy the world

What I can say about Wu Assassins, is that it’s a fun TV show you can you binge watch and admire all the action that hits non stop. One thing that stood out to me the most would be the plot and the run time for curtain episodes, some felt like they were longer than others and most of the time it didn’t even seem like it was apart of the plot but more with the story.

However, I sat through it and  everything was still enjoyable. I would give Wu Assassins eight stars out of 10.
