Devin Haney was born on November 17, 1998, in San Francisco, California. He began boxing at the young age of seven, inspired and supported by his father, Bill Haney.
Due to age restrictions in the United States, Haney turned professional at just 17 years old but had to begin his pro career in Mexico, where he could compete legally.
This experience gave him valuable exposure and helped him build a solid foundation for his future in the boxing sport.
At the age of 27 he is seemingly making even more process fighting good famous boxers like Ryan Garcia, Vasiliy Lomachenko, and Regris Prograis.
His record being 33 wins, 0 losses, and 0 draws, with 15 knockouts even though he lost to Ryan Garcia the loss has been revoked since Ryan Garcia failed a drug test.
Haney became the undisputed lightweight champion in 2022, holding all four major belts (WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO) plus The Ring title, a status he defended before vacating them in late 2023 to move up in weight, later becoming a two-division champion by winning WBC & WBO titles at junior welterweight and WBO title at welterweight.
