This season the Indiana Pacers picked up right where they had left off from last season, ending the season with 50 wins with their win over the Cavaliers on Sunday, where they came back from being down 27 points.
The last time the Pacers had 50 wins was the 2013-14 season when Paul George was leading the starting lineup.
The Pacers this year have had a fantastic season with additions of resigning All-Star Pascal Siakam, key piece of the bench Obi Toppin, and Pacers veteran TJ McConnell.
The Pacers didn’t need to add too much to their roster this season, minus a few additions to the bench. This team is the same team that went to the Eastern Conference Finals, but they are more hungry for revenge than ever.
The Pacers start their playoff run at the 4th seed, giving us home-court advantage when we face the 5th seed, the Milwaukee Bucks. Over the past two seasons, the Bucks and Pacers have become a rivalry, also facing them in the first round of the playoffs last year with the Pacers beating them in six games.
The Pacers this year have a remotely similar team, but coach Rick Carlisle really has been the one to tighten up the ship and make the Pacers the NBA’s 8th most efficient team. This year, many milestones were hit with long-time Pacers veteran Myles Turner hitting 9,000 points, 1,400 career blocks, and 700 three-pointers made. While Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton now has the record for the most 20-point 10 10-assist 0-turnover games.
It will be first time since 2019 and 2020 since the Pacers have had tow playoff appearances in a row. The first game of the playoffs for the Indiana Pacers will take place on April 19, this Saturday, at 1 p.m. at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
