Week 5 for your Indianapolis Colts ended in a defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The final score was 37-34, extending the losing streak in Jacksonville to 11 years.
This week’s Colts football game was a hard-fought one, with quarterback Anthony Richardson out and star running back Jonathan Taylor also out. Despite injuries, our backup QB showed up with everything he could. Joe Flacco threw a great game going 33/44 on passes, and throwing 3 touchdowns. Alec Pierce had an undeniable breakout game, with 134 yards on only 3 receptions, showing why he’s going to be an elite player
A big recurring issue that keeps coming back is defense. This week Gus Bradley’s defense allowed 126 rushing yards from one running back. The Colts rushing defense is ranked 2nd to last by Fox Sports allowing 157.0 rushing yards a game, and last place only allows .7 more yards. Rushing defense is not the only defensive issue, Fox Sports also has the Colts’ passing defense ranked 29th in the League, allowing 262.2 yards a game.
This weeks injury report takes another painful hit to the Colts offense, that being injured is star wide receiver Michael Pittman. He will be out for “a couple” weeks (per ESPN). Anthony Richardson (quadricep injury) and Kenny Moore II (hip and shoulder injury) have been both upgraded to light practice this week ahead of this week. Last but not least, Ryan Kelly (neck injury) has been back to doing full practices as of Thursday.
The Colts are to face off with the Tennessee Titans away at the heart of Nashville, in Nissan Stadium. The Titans are coming off a bye week, last facing the Miami Dolphins beating them at home not allowing any touchdowns. This will be an exciting young quarterback VS veteran quarterback showdown.
