Taylor shines in Hoosier win

Reese Taylor returned four punts for 32 yards and had five tackles in Indiana’s 56-14 win over Idaho.

Esezi Otomewo had two solo tackles and assisted on one for Minnesota (1-1) in a 31-26 win against Miami, Ohio.

Broc Thompson caught two passes for 30 yards for Purdue (2-0) in a 49-0 defeat of Connecticut. Elijah Ball also saw action for the Boilers.

Dawand Jones started on the offensive line for Ohio State (1-1) in a 35-28 loss to Oregon.

Delbert Mimms assisted on one tackle for North Carolina State (1-1) in a 24-10 loss to Mississippi State.

Daman Banks saw action for New Mexico Highlands (1-1) in a 31-21  loss to The Colorado School of Mines.

Braden McGowan played for Franklin (2-0) in a 36-29 win against Rhodes.

Noah Thomas caught five passes for 97 yards, including a 39 yard touchdown reception, and rushed twice for six yards for Rose-Hulman (1-1) in  31-30 defeat of Trine.

Adrian Reese returned two punts for three yards for Faireigh Dickinson-Florham (1-1) in a 43-17 defeat of William Patterson.

Wayne Vaughn started at center for Manchester (0-2) in a 43-17 loss to Alma.

Marian (2-0) defeated Madonna 80-3. Sir’ Zion Dance had one solo tackle for a two yard loss, assisted on three tackles, and broke up one pass for the Knights. Teammate Trent Gipson caught two passes for 20 yards, returned a punt 10 yards, and blocked a Madonna punt in the first period.

MENS SOCCER

 Dana Escamilla has started each match for Franklin (0-4) and the sophomore midfielder has taken two shots, one on goal.

St. Mary-of-the-Woods (1-1-1) lost 2-1 to Harris-Stowe State.  Victor Villagomez played 73 minutes for the Pomeroy; teammate Fatoke Anjolaoluwa took one shot on goal during the 34 minutes he played; and the Pomeroys’ Taiwo Anifowose played all 90 minutes. He has played in all but two minutes in the Pomeroys’ three matches.

MENS CROSS COUNTRY

Marian, Indianapolis, and Grace participated in the 14 team 8K Indiana Wesleyan Twilight Meet. Marian’s Kace Rhoades placed 80th of 175 (24:58.3); Grace’s Maurice Macklin was 123rd (29:02.5); and Indianapolis’ Hayden Baldwin placed 43rd (26:44.0), while fellow Greyhound Aaron Trejo was 159th (31:52.4).

Franklin’s Matt Lee was 61st of 70 in 24:58.3 at the 6K Hanover Invitational.
