Diamond Dynasty finds way to give back
January 8, 2021
The Ben Davis Diamond Dynasty dance team was not able to complete community service due to Covid-19 restrictions. However, that did not stop their desire to serve.
The coaching staff, Shayla Hampton and Kiara Malone, decided to think outside of the box and were able to develop an initiative that not only served, but honored and supported others. The initiative set out to show appreciation and recognition for the many Black women leaders in Wayne Township.
After doing research and locating all of the amazing women, the coaches visited every one of them, and presented them with a gift of gratitude. The gift included a thank you card, a custom diamond pen, assorted candies, a Starbucks cake pop, and for the women in administrative roles, a Starbucks gift card.
Women honored:
Dr. Shenia Suggs- Asst. Superintendent for Human Resources
Dr. Denita Harris-Curriculum Coordinator
Dr. Dennisha Murff-Principal
Pennie Gregory-Asst. Director of Special Services
Kris Walker-Guess-District Transition Coordinator
Raimeka Graham- School board
