So I just watched Fantastic Four: First Steps, and I thought it was actually pretty cool.
It’s about this superhero team made up of four people: Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Johnny Storm (Human Torch), and Ben Grimm (The Thing). They already have their powers when the movie starts, which is awesome because it gets straight to the action.
The movie looks really different from other superhero movies. It takes place in this kind of retro-future world that looks like the 1960s but in space. The costumes are colorful and kind of old-school, and the music is super epic, like something from a space cartoon. I thought that made the movie feel fun and unique.
Pedro Pascal plays Reed Richards, and I think he did a good job being the smart leader. Vanessa Kirby plays Sue, and she’s honestly one of the best parts of the movie. She’s tough and smart and kind of keeps the whole team together. Johnny and Ben are funny and cool too, but I wish they had more to do. Johnny was kind of just there to make jokes and fly around on fire, and Ben mostly grunted and punches stuff to pieces.
One of the coolest characters is the Silver Surfer. She (yes, she’s a girl in this version) doesn’t talk much, but her scenes are really awesome, and she looks amazing. And Galactus, the villain, is actually super scary this time. He’s not just a cloud like in that old movie—he’s a giant space monster!
The only thing I didn’t love was that some parts were kind of slow. There were long talking scenes that didn’t really hold my attention. Also, I wish there were a few more action scenes, especially near the beginning.
But overall, I think Fantastic Four: First Steps is a fun and cool superhero movie. It’s different from all the other Marvel movies, which I liked. If you like action, space stuff, and awesome superhero powers, you should definitely check it out. It’s not perfect, but I had a good time watching it, and I think other kids my age and regular MCU movie watchers would like it too.
