Texas’ Jalil Brewer placed fourth in the shot put at the Big 12 Indoor Championships (60-6).

Trine won the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association  Championship. Zach Brickler placed fifth of 17 in the 5000 (16:24,.63) and Yosef Solomom was 19^th of 21 in the mile (4:14.41).

Indiana’s Dom Day placed 14^th in the ;long jump  (22-08) at the Big Ten Indoor Championships.

Dona Fagnon placed 14^th of 18 in the 60 meter dash (7.13) at the Horizon League Championships.

MENS BASKETBALL

Illinois Central (10-16) defeated John Wood 73-66. Josh Shannon had three points (1 for 2, 0 for 0, 1 for 2) and one turnover for Illinois Central.

WOMENS BASKETBALL

 Lakeland 13-13 lost 52-51 to Wisconsin Lutheran in the second round of the conference tourney. Brianna Jones had five points (2 for 14, 0 for 0, 1 for 2), one assist, one blocked shot, three turnovers, and a team high 12 rebounds n 36 minutes  for Lakeland.

Toledo (23-4, 17-1) defeated Central Michigan 76-53 and Eastern Michigan 75-51. Khera Goss had four points (2 for 3, 0 for 1, 0 for 1), one rebound, one assist, and one turnover in 13 minutes against CMU; and seven points (3 for 6, 1 for 4, 0 for 0), three rebounds, two assists, and one turnover in 25 minutes against EMU.

Cherelle Newsom had 11 points (3 for 10, 2 for 8, 3 for 4), five rebounds, two assists, and one turnover for Vincennes (19-8) in a 76-74 defeat of Rend Lake.

BASEBALL

LSU-Shreveport (14-2) defeated Southwestern Assembly of God and Our Lady of the Lake. Zion Avery had two hits, two runs scored, and one RBI in seven at bats in the two games.

Franklin (3-0) swept three games against Albion, MI. Braden McGowan pinch hit unsuccessfully for the Grizzlies in game one.

MENS GOLF

Playing for fourth place Chicago State in a field of nine teams at the Veterans Intercollegiate at Winter Garden , Florida, Cameron Jones had scores of 81-77-69-227, good for third for his team and 28^th overall.

WOMENS INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD

Indianapolis’ Mariah Judy placed 11^th of 14 in the mile at the GLVC Championships.

Kentucky’s Simi Akinrinsola placed 13^th  of 21 in the weight throw (60-8) at the Southeastern Conference Championships.
