The boys soccer team followed the lead of the girls soccer team by beating Pike 1-0 Wednesday night.

The win improves the boys record to 6-7-3 and moves the boys into Saturday’s sectional championship game. The Giants will play Brebeuf at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pike.

“It was a midfield game in the first half,” assistant coach Eric Cooper reported. “Not
many shots and at the half the game was tied 0-0.  Going into the second half Darren
Knorr put one in the back of the net five minutes into the half. Minutes
later Jensen Kemple pulled out a beautiful save to keep BD up.”

The girls play Brebeuf at 7 p.m. today at home in the sectional championship.

In other action Wednesday, the boys cross country team finished seventh in the MIC and the girls finished 10th.
