Senior Haven Sanders has two more chances to showcase his on-stage talents.
“I have really enjoyed performing on stage,” said Sanders, who will be in his ninth production at Ben Davis this week when Ride the Cyclone hits the stage Friday and Saturday. “It has been fun performing and meeting a lot of cool people along the way.”
Sanders doesn’t name a favorite show, but he thinks Ride the Cyclone will be an interesting performance.
“It’s a small and intimate cast,” he said. “We have really gotten to know each other very well and I think that will make the audience really like us.”
Sanders also thinks this show is a little different than most.
“The story is a little morbid,” he said. “It’s about six kids from a Catholic school who all get to go to an amusement park, but unfortunately a fortune teller tells them they are all going to die and one has a chance to be brought back to life. I think we have fun with the show and I think keeping the cast small is a great idea.”
Sanders also will perform in Romeo and Juliet in May, but he knows his days in theatre are coming to an end.
“People should really come and see this,” he said. “Despite the morbid part of the story, we really have a lot of fun with this story. I think the audience will like what they see.”
