Giants improve to 27-0, play Franklin Central Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Ben Davis set a school record for consecutive wins in boys basketball with a 62-46 win over Southport in Wednesday’s Class 4A Sectional 11 tilt at Perry Meridian. The win improves the Giants to 27-0. The 27 straight wins for the 4A No. 1 rated Giants moves them past the 94-95, 95-96 Giants who won 26 straight across two seasons.
Ben Davis now plays Franklin Central in Friday’s second game at Perry Meridian following the 6 p.m. opening game between Pike and Decatur Central. The winners of Friday’s game will return for the championship Saturday at 7 p.m.
Franklin Central advanced with a 39-34 win over host Perry Meridian on Wednesday while Decatur Central beat Roncalli 55-52 on Tuesday night. Pike drew the first round bye.
