Lady Giants open sectional with Southport

Ben Davis will open the girls basketball Class 4A Sectional 11 against host Southport on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. If the Giants should win, they would play Pike on Friday, Feb. 3 in the first game of the sectional semifinals.
Ben Davis is 12-9 with games remaining this Tuesday at Westfield and Friday at home against Carmel. Friday is senior night for the lady Giants.
Ben Davis did not play Southport during the regualr season but the lady Giants own a 61-33 win over Pike. Southport is 10-10 entering the last week of the season. In the other side of the sectional bracket, Perry Meridian (3-15) plays Franklin Central (5-15) and Roncalli (16-4) faces Decatur Central (12-7) on Wednesday, Feb 1. Those winners will play in the second game on Friday, Feb 3.
