Giants advance to county Final Four

Th Ben Davis boys basketball team improved to 16-0 with a 67-52 win over Warren Central Wednesday night.
The win moves the Giants into the Final Four of the Marion County tournament. Ben Davis will play Southport in the second game of Friday’s double-header at Southport. The host Cardinals are 9-4 and gave BD its closest game of the season so far before BD prevailed 55-52 in overtime.
Ben Davis has not won a county title since 1995 when coach Don Carlisle was a sophomore on a team that went on to capture the state championship. After the county tourney, the Giants host Decatur Central Tuesday.
In other sports this weekend, our lady Giant wrestlers compete in the state tourney tomorrow at Mooresville while the boys participate in the conference meet Saturday at Lawrence North. Our girls basketball team plays at Pike Saturday at 1:30 p.m. while our swimmers are at Speedway tonight. Our swimmers then host Senior Night Saturday at 10 a.m.
