The boys and girls soccer teams are on an upswing as they prepare for sectional play to begin next week.

The boys defeated highly-touted North Central 1-0 Thursday night to finish the regular season with an 8-4-1 record, includig two straight wins this week. The boys open sectional play Tuesday at 6 p.m. against Decatur Central in the opening game of the Brownsburg sectional.

The girls finished their regular season with a 2-1 win over Pike on Senior Night Wednesday. The lady Giants take a 4-11 record into Monday’s sectional opener against Pike at Mooresville.

In other Giant sports, the Unified Flag Football team finishes the regular season with a 9-1 record after losing to Franklin Central 40-27 Thursday night and then defeating Warren Central 41-20 in the nightcap. The Unified Giants open sectional play Saturday at 1:30 p.m. against George Washington at Brownsburg. A win puts them in the 3 p.m. championship.

The boys tennis team defeated Crispus Attucks 5-0 Thursday to advance to today’s sectional championship match against Covenant Christian at 4:30 p.m.

The football team travels to Carmel tonight for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
