Boys CC headed to semistate

Fall sports nearing the end

For the second straight year, the boys cross country advanced as a team to the Shelbyville Semistate. The boys finished fifth with 131 points at the Ben Davis regional this past weekend to advance.
Junior Yosef Solomon paced the boys with a 15th place finish in 16:21.1. Joining the boys at semistate will be senior Toren Hartog, who ran a 20:01.4 for 26th place overall in the girls race.
The boys football team is the only other spring sport still in action. The Giants claimed a share of the MIC title with a 23-7 win over North Central.
That win gave the Giants a 5-4 record overall and 5-2 in the conference, forcing a four-way tie with Ben Davis, Carmel, Warren Central and North Central for the MIC crown.
The Giants opened Class 6A sectional action next Friday by hosting Perry Meridian.
