Girls golf team advances to regionals
Volleyball team finishes second in invite
The girls golf team finished second at the South Grove Sectional Friday by shooting a 339. Carmel won the sectional with a 298 and the Giants finished one stroke ahead of Guerin Catholic.
The girls were led by junior Claire Thompson who shot a 7-over-par 77. Junior Ellie Neff was second on the team with an 82.
In other action over the weekend. the girls volleyball team finished second in its own invitational. The girls went 3-1, defeating Martinsville 25-18, 16-25 and 15-13, beating East Central 25-16, 25-18 and beating Batesville 23-25, 25-15 and 15-13. The girls lost to Provident 16-25 and 17-25 in the championship match.
In tennis, the boys beat Pike and lost to Carmel and Terre Haute North in the MIC tournament.
This week there are three senior nights with boys soccer on Tuesday and girls soccer and volleyball on Wednesday.
