Former Giant scores NFL touchdown
Doss finding a role on special teams
Former Ben Davis football star Tandon Doss scored his second NFL touchdown Sunday when he returned a punt 82 yards to help the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens defeat the Houston Texans 30-9.
His first touchdown was scored during the 2012 season against the Texans. Doss scored in the third quarter of that game on a 15 yard pass from Joe Flacco.
Doss was released by the Ravens before the season but was picked up after the Ravens lost the season opener in Denver. He has found a spot on the Ravens special teams, downing a punt on the one-yard line last weekend and scoring on a punt return this weekend.
He is believed to be the second Ben Davis graduate to score a NFL touchdown. Former Ben Davis kicker Morten Andersen scored 2,544 points during a 25-year NFL career but they were all field goals and extra points. Former BD player Corey Harris scored a touchdown with the Ravens in 1999.
Doss played three seasons at Indiana University after graduating from Ben Davis in 2008. He has played in 22 games over the past three seasons for the Ravens and played in last year’s Super Bowl.
