On September 15, 2022, at Garfield Park, the annual Mexican Independence day known as El Grito was celebrated after two years of absence due to the pandemic. Friends, family, and loved ones got together to celebrate El Grito which is a tradition that Miguel Hidalgo & Costilla used to garner the support of the people to rise and take arms against European oppressors, which in fact signaled the beginning of Mexico’s war of its independence.
