staff report

Tuesday evening. the M.S.D. of Wayne Township Board of Education approved the following recommendations:

  • Effective Wednesday, February 23, 2022, the M.S.D. of Wayne Township will move from a mask mandate to mask optional and follow the revised recommendations from the Indiana Department of Health released Thursday, February 17, 2022.

  • Visitor access will remain restricted through spring break.

  • Voluntary after school and weekend activities for families may resume in-person.

  • Outside health-related services (hearing, vision, dental, etc) may resume March 1, 2022.

While this signifies a major change in our protocols, there are several protocols that will remain the same, including:

  • School nurses will continue to report positive cases to the MCPHD.

  • Masks are still required on public transportation (School Buses) as a federal mandate.

  • Disinfecting Wipes will continue to be available for classrooms

  • Custodians will still clean, sanitize, and disinfect their assigned spaces.

  • Masks and hand sanitizer will be made available in offices and classrooms for those who would like one.

Starting today, parents may check the Close Contact Monitoring tab on our website.  On this tab, parents will be able to see if anyone in their child’s class tested positive for COVID-19 and if they should monitor their child for symptoms.
