The boys and girls soccer teams kick off the season Saturday by hosting preseason scrimmages. The scrimmages begin at 9 a.m. and will end around 1 p.m.

A few senior soccer players sat down and discussed their hopes for the season.

What are your team goals for this season?

• Mariah Allen-Harris: “My team goals are to have a stronger better team than last year. Also, for everyone to improve.”
• Sydney Johnson: “To better ourselves as a whole and to finish out with county or sectional championships.”
• Jenson Kemple: “Make it to the final round of sectionals.”
• Quinton Fitts: “I want to break some records and make it to state.’’

How much time has you and your team spent preparing for season?

• Mariah Allen-Harris: “Since last summer.’’
• Sydney Johnson: “We have been preparing since winter of last year.’’
• Jenson Kemple:  “A weeks worth of practice.’’
• Quinton Fitts: “All summer.’’

What has been your favorite BD soccer Moment?

• Mariah Allen-Harris: “Seeing the players improve.”
• Sydney Johnson: “This year is going to be my favorite year.’’
• Jenson Kemple: “Saving the winning shot in the Westside classic.”
• Quintin Fitts:  “I took a PK against an opponent.’’

Fitts made the Indiana Olympic Development team for his age-group this past summer. “I just tried out and I was one of the best players to be put on the team,’’ he said.
