Marvel Rivals is a free to play third-person shooter game that came out on December 5 2024. It was released on PC, Ps5 and Xbox. It is developed by NetEase Games and Marvel Entertainment. The game was originally just assumed to be a copy of Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch franchise. Although it is a very very similar game the best part is the characters. The design on each character is comic accurate and the heroes attached with different roles all make sense for example Venom is a tank while Spiderman is a duelist. The roles are made well for all different types of players. The attacks are also very unique and comic accurate. Venom uses his symbiote to shoot projectiles at opposing characters. Spidermans attack is hand to hand combat but he can also shoot webs and web sling. On the downside there are a few characters that are copies from Overwatch. The Punisher is a copy from Overwatch’s Soldier 76 and Star Lord is really similar to Tracy. The art in the game is really good as well. There’s a lot of immersive transition animations and the characters are well drawn; they look almost pulled out of a comic. Overall I think Marvel Rivals is a really fun game not only Overwatch gamers will enjoy but Marvel fans will love this game.
