Marching Giants return to state
There are plenty of traditions the band will enjoy this week
A week filled with traditions returns to the Ben Davis marching band this week.
The marching Giants will compete at 8:45 p.m. Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium in the Indiana state finals a year after missing the state finals.
“This is what every band dreams about all season,” director David Cole said. “We plan on working hard and making this one memorable.”
The band qualified for state by finishing in the top 10 at semi-state last weekend. They will be the fifth of 10 bands to perform in the Class A finals Saturday night with awards scheduled to start at 10:03 p.m. Tickets to the state finals are $20 for adults and $18 for students and are available in the band office until 3 p.m. Saturday.
This week will be a tradition-filled for band members, culminating with drinking the state milk after Saturday’s performance.
“We plan on digging in, having fun and making this the best week ever,” Cole said.
The theme to this year’s show is Hypnotic State.
