A lot of Mondays are rough.
Waking up early after the weekend is the worst thing ever because you still have four more days to go. That’s why I can’t wait until the new schedule next year.
I think students will love the two-hour Monday delay because not only will us students get more sleep, it would make Mondays less stressful and miserable.
Teachers will benefit from it too. We all know that teens don’t get enough sleep because we’re always up on our phones late at night until 3 a.m. or whatnot. That’s just what we do.
Half of the time, students sleep in class or they aren’t focused because they didn’t get enough sleep. Those extra two hours can help us feel more awake and ready to learn instead of sitting in class like zombies.
Mondays will be a lot more unstressful and easy from now on because knowing that we can sleep in, it gives us something to look forward on Mondays from now on. It might even make us excited to start the week off.
Teachers can also benefit, a lot of us students are grumpy on Mondays which makes us not want to do any work, put our heads down, or tune the teachers out when they’re talking which makes a lot of teachers stressed and irritated.
Well-rested students would be less grumpy and more focused, which would make the teachers job easier and make them happier because us students will be more interested in the work that is being provided to us. Plus, teachers will have a little more extra time to prep in the morning since they have to come in at 7:00-7:30 to prep for the day. Two hours extra is very convenient.
A two-hour delay every Monday would make school better for everyone, or I may say, is going to make school better for everyone. We would be happier, more awake, and ready to learn.
I can’t wait.
