Rice’s goal leads to Marian win

Jalen Rice scored the first goal for Marian (8-6-2) in a 2-1 overtime win against Goshen. His goal at 81.46 was the first of the match, but Goshen scored in less than a minute to force overtime. Rice took four shots in the match, with his goal the only one on goal.
St. Mary-of-the-Woods (6-3-2) fell 2-1 to Brescia. Andrew Aceituno was in the goal for 45.32 minutes for the Pomeroy and had one save while yielding no goals. Both teammates Taiwo Anifowose and Victor Villagomez played the full 92 minutes, while Fatoke Anjolaoluwa played 61 minutes.
WOMENS CROSS COUNTRY
Indianapolis finished fifth of 14 teams a the 6K Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships. Mariah Judy was fifth for the Greyhounds and 47th of 148 overall in 23:43.91.
MENS CROSS COUNTRY
Indianapolis placed fifth of 14 teams at the 8K Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships. Hayden Baldwin placed 91st of 163 (26:55.52), and Andrew Trejo was 147th (29:48.04).
FOOTBALL
Broc Thompson caught two passes for 20 yards for Purdue (4-3, 2-23) in a 30-13 loss to Wisconsin.
Dawand Jones started on the offensive line for Ohio State (6-1, 4-0) in a 54-7 defeat of Indiana. Reese Taylor did not play for the Hoosiers (2-5, 0-4).
Delbert Mimms had two solo tackles for North Carolina State (5-2, 2-1) in a 31-30 loss to Miami.
Daman Banks had two solo tackles, one a 12 yard sack, for New Mexico Highlands (3-5, 3-4) in a 24-10 win against Black Hills State.
Andrew Zulu saw action for Indianapolis (5-3, 2-1) in a 70-21 defeat of Quincy.
Starting wide receiver Noah Thomas caught five passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns and carried the ball once for one yard for Rose-Hulman (5-2, 4-0) in a 57-14 defeat of Manchester (2-5, 2-2). Wayne Vaughn started at center for Manchester.
Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham (4-3, 3-2) lost 23-20 to Kings. Starting wide receiver Adrian Reese returned two punts for 13 yards and caught two passes, one for a 36 yard gain and the other for a two yard loss.
Sir’ Zion Dance continued to lead Marian in tackles with six solo and four assisted in a 25-7 win against Concordia, Michigan. The starting linebacker also intercepted a pass, which he returned ten yards; broke up two passes; and forced a fumble. Trent Gipson also saw action for the Knights.
Starting defensive end Alfred Moore had three solo tackles, one a 19 yard sack, and four assisted tackles for St. Francis (2-5, 0-4) in a 23-21 loss to Indiana Wesleyan.
