Spotlight and BDTV each earned national recognition this week.
Spotlight and bdspotlight.com were named a Crown Finalist by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association in the hybrid/general news magazine category. They are one of 12 Crown Finalists named by CSPA, an organization that supports scholastic journalism worldwide.
Spotlight will be recognized at the 101st CSPA National Convention in March in New York City. They will be featured at the March 21 awards ceremony. This is the first Crown Finalist for Spotlight. Being named a Crown Finalist is the highest award a publication can earn from CSPA. Once named a Finalist, Spotlight is eligible to be named a Gold Crown.
BDTV also received national recognition this week.
The Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) is an organization that supports both college and high school media outlets and organizations. Each year, the IBS Media Awards are handed out at their annual conference to its member stations. This year, more than 3,000 entries were submitted from 100-plus schools across the country and the globe.

Logan Thompson-Best Use of Graphics
Jonas Walker/Girum Temesgen/Maddox Hinton-Best Commercial/Promotion
The winners in all categories will be announced at a ceremony in New York City on March 8.
