The girls basketball team dropped a 47-43 regional championship to Mooresville Saturday night at Decatur Central.

Junior Cristen Carter was the only Giant in double figures with 10 points while junior Taylor Guess added nine points and 10 rebounds. The lady Giants finish the season 15-10.

BOYS BASKETBALL

The Giants dropped a 63-52 decision at Lawrence North to fall to 15-6 on the season. The boys host 21st Century Charter from Gary tonight with a 6:30 p.m. scheduled tip. The Giants are ranked No. 4 in Class 4A while 21st Century is No. 3 in Class A. After tonight’s game, the Giants travel to Cathedral Friday and end the regular season February 25 at home against Tech.

The IHSAA state tourney draw is this Sunday. Ben Davis is the host school for sectionals.

WRESTLING

Senior Anfernee Oliver advanced to the state finals in the 145 pound weight class. Oliver will wrestle Friday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. He takes his 31-8 record against East Central junior Riley Searcy, who sports a 44-2 record.

SWIMMING

The boys begin sectional action Thursday at home. The sectional finals begin at 1 p.m. Saturday.
