Six west side Indianapolis parks will benefit from more than $12 million in grant money from the Lilly Endowment, according to a release announced by by endowment Tuesday afternoon.

The six parks on the west side of Indianapolis are among 42 parks that will be affected by the $80 million grant, which is the largest donation ever made to Indy Parks.

The west side parks are:

–Chapel Hill Park just south of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church near 10th Street and Girls School Road. The park receives $2 million to upgrade the basketball courts, add pickle ball courts, replace the playground and add a splash pad.

–Eagle Creek Park on West 56th Street will received $2.6 to upgrade trails and help develop a documentary about the history of the park.

–Geisse Soccer Complex in Eagle Creek Park will receive $2.4 million to upgrade drainage and add a shelter and comfort stations.

–Krannert Park near Interstate 465 and Rockville Road will receive $3.75 million for upgrades to trials, playground equipment and basketball courts.

–Kuntz Soccer Complex on west 16th Street will receive $2.75 million to add a new playing surface and install new lights.

–Major Taylor Skate Park, a part of the Indy CycloPlex on Cold Spring Road, will receive $750,000 to expand the skate park while adding new lighting.
