The final regular season football game between Ben Davis and North Central has been moved to 3 p.m. on October 15 instead of the usual 7 p.m. kickoff.

Mary Lang, the communications officer for Ben Davis, said in a statement the move was made “during the debriefing session after the events outside our football stadium on the evening of Oct. 1.”

“Both Ben Davis High School and North Central High School will be on fall break at that time, and the earlier start time will also provide us more time to honor our seniors, as is our custom at our final home game each year,” Lang said. “We do not intend to make this time change for our football games a permanent one.”

The October 1 home game was disrupted by a shooting incident outside of Giants Stadium midway through the fourth quarter of a 35-21 loss to Carmel. No one inside the stadium was harmed and the shooter has been arrested.
