Leo is not the only one who deserves an Oscar
Actors who sh gotten that award
A lot of famous actors have not won an Oscar yet in their career. As the Oscars prepare for its annual show this Sunday, let’s look at some famous actors who have been snubbed:
- Bill Murray- Murray was only in the running twice with Lost in Transition and St. Vincent but hasn’t won one yet. He actually doesn’t want to. “If you want an award so much, it’s like a virus,” Murray said, “It’s an illness.” You may have seen Murray in movies like Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day or Caddyshack.
- Bruce Willis- Willis has never even been nominated for an Oscar surprisingly, but he isn’t upset about it. “You don’t get an Oscar for comedy,” Willis said, “and you don’t get it for shooting people.” You may have seen him in the movies Die Hard, Pulp Fiction or RED.
- Samuel L. Jackson- Jackson was not too happy about being passed up for the Academy Award in 1994 for the best supporting role in Pulp Fiction and he was hopeful when it came time for Django Unchained to be nominated but wasn’t.
- Tom Cruise- Cruise has been nominated three times for an Academy Award but has yet to win one. He was nominated for Born on the Fourth of July, Jerry Maguire, and Magnolia.
- Brad Pitt- Pitt has been nominated six times for an Oscar and actually had a movie that won Best Picture but has never won an Oscar. Pitt has a movie, The Big Short, that’s nominated this year for an award.
- Will Smith- Smith was nominated twice for Best Actor for his roles in Ali and The Pursuit of Happiness. You may have seen him in the movies I Am Legend, Men in Black, or I, Robot. Smith actually isn’t attending this year’s Academy Awards Ceremony because, “the Academy reflects the industry, reflects Hollywood,” Smith said, “And then the industry reflects America, it reflects a series of challenges we’re having in our country at the moment.” He has a huge respect for the nominees but he doesn’t want to play into what the ceremony really is.
- Johnny Depp- Depp was nominated 3 times for Best Actor for his roles in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse Of the Black Pearl, Finding Neverland, and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Although he was nominated, a nomination was enough for the great actor. “I don’t want to win one of those things ever, you know,” Depp said. He doesn’t want to have to make the acceptance speech and he also doesn’t want it to seem like he’s in competition with anyone for the award.
- Leonardo Dicaprio- Dicaprio has been nominated for the Academy Award a total of six times. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, Best Actor in The Aviator, Blood Diamond, and both Best Actor and Best Picture for The Wolf of Wall Street. He is currently nominated for Best Actor for his role in The Revenant. It’s Dicaprio’s dream to win an Oscar and it’s become a bit of a joke throughout the internet, although we all know he deserves the award. Maybe this year Leo will finally win his Oscar, his reaction is sure to be all the internet talks about for weeks.
